Associate Professor Robert Hester is a cognitive neuroscientist with research interests in the neural mechanisms that underlie control of own behaviour and the factors that contribute to the loss of self-control. He was awarded a PhD in psychology from La Trobe University in 2003. He was awarded an ARC Future Fellowship in 2012 and currently heads the Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
