Projects from SLRC research teams secure ongoing funding

The Science of Learning Research Centre is delighted that projects from two SLRC research teams have secured ongoing funding to continue their work.

With funding through The Myer Foundation, the SLRC’s Professor Martin Westwell and his team at Flinders University, in conjunction with the South Australian Department for Education and Child Development, will continue their work improving mathematics outcomes, putting the development of children’s stop-and-think skills at the centre of their mathematics learning.

SLRC researchers at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) have been awarded funding through the Sidney Myer Fund to continue their research into maths anxiety. This new research project will involve helping primary teachers to understand and address their maths anxiety and the anxiety of their students.

The SLRC congratulates the teams at both ACER and at Flinders on this success, which demonstrates the value of SLRC research for improving learning outcomes.
